Spinal Cord With Ganglia
This transverse section of spinal cord has an attached dorsal root ganglion on the left side of the slide. The dorsal root ganglia cells receive sensory inputs from the body and transmit those signals to the spinal cord. Follow the nerve fibers from the dorsal root ganglia to their entry point in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord. These signals then integrate in the spinal cord and are transmitted to the brain.
Annotations
The diffuse nuclear chromatin of this large motor neuron is typical of cells involved in active protein synthesis.
